How To Create Instagram Carousels

A

t the beginning of the year I was looking for a way to make these awesome carousels in Photoshop in a way that didn't take up too much time. At first I was creating each slide and exporting them one by one LOL! It took a few weeks to figure out and I did it by piecing different guides and videos together. I then came up with my own workflow to create these awesome Instagram Carousels. If you need any help, shoot me a message somewhere!

Let's start by opening Photoshop.

Now, you'll want your canvas to have these settings. 1350 pixels is the max height for Instagram feed posts but you can also do 1080 if you wish to have a square image.

You should end up with something that looks like this...Someone actually commented on the IG post about this...10800 pixels wide?! Hope you have a good computer.
Okay now we need a guide to follow yea? Go to View > New Guide Layout
Toolbar - View > New Guide Layout
These margins will help you keep your content within safe zones of IG display methods.
Well shit yea! Now we have this handy dandy guide to follow...
Now your Photoshop document is ready for some art...
Now that's pretty...
Now that we are done designing, let's move onto exporting these out efficiently.
Get rid of the margins in View > New Guide Layout, Remember?
Now we need the slice tool
SLICE TOOL > SLICES FROM GUIDES
Time To Export all of our slides! Yay!
File > Export > Save For Web (Legacy)
Select all slices and set your export settings in the upper right.
Save them into a folder to stay organized.
Voila! 10 slides to entertain and provide value! Kinda like this post...

If you enjoyed this tutorial consider sharing it with your design friends that may find it handy!
